About T. James Dix, DDS Richmond, VA
Dr. Dix knew he wanted to be a dentist as far back as his time as a student at Mills Godwin High School, during which time he worked as an intern at Riverwind Dental, formerly Allen D. Bernstein’s family dental practice. A born and raised Richmonder, he went on to obtain his Bachelors of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, followed by his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the VCU Medical College of Virginia. Upon graduation from dental school, he completed a two-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he served as Chief Resident. After completion of his residency, he returned to Richmond to serve the hometown community that has always been such an integral part of his life.
In his free time, you will likely find him outside. He enjoys backpacking and exploring National Parks, or competing in local half marathons. He also likes to spend his free time completing woodworking projects, like furniture-making and carving. He selected the name “Riverwind Dental” as a tribute to his personal and family connection to the Rappahannock River. He spent every boyhood summer along the River, and still devotes many of his weekends to oyster gardening. He and his brother have improved the quality of the Chesapeake Bay by raising over 30,000 oysters since 2012. |
